VACAVILLE, Calif. (KGO) -- A 17-year-old girl from Concord was killed in a chain reaction crash on Interstate 80 early Sunday morning. The CHP tells us it happened around 12:30 a.m. on the westbound lanes, west of Leisure Town Road in Vacaville.

According to officials, the girl was standing on the shoulder of the freeway putting gas in her car with a Nissan Altima parked directly behind her.

The CHP says a man driving a Super Shuttle van drove onto the shoulder and hit the Altima, sending the van spinning into the teen's car, pushing it onto her.

The teen died at Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville.

The CHP says alcohol was not a factor in this collision.
