There was a big round of applause for Joaquin Miller Middle School in San Jose for winning the National Science Bowl middle school competition in Washington, D.C.
Lynbrook High School in San Jose came in second.
The National Science Bowl is an academic competition that tests students' knowledge in science and math. More than 14,000 students across the country participate in the bowl each year.
