SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Stanford is well known for its Nobel Prize winners, its medical school, entrepreneurs like the Google Guys, but what about its rock stars.

Stanford graduate Daniel Lee, better known as Tablo, and the Korean rock and hip hop band Epik High launched their U.S. tour at The Warfield in San Francisco Thursday night.

Fans lined up outside well before the show.

The k-pop band had a special message for their U.S. audience. "We appreciate that you follow us since we are so far way. We're glad that you're part of the movement," Tablo said.

Epik High purposely shot their new video Borne Hater vertically. Tablo told ABC7 News he did that because so many watch on their smartphones.

Lee graduated from Stanford in 2002 after just 3 years and left the university with both a Bachelors and Masters degree.
