HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (KGO) -- Organizers say the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival will go ahead this weekend - rain or shine. Crews set up on Friday and taking the necessary precautions in case of rain.



A 1,910-pound pumpkin won the 2016 Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off in Half Moon Bay.

Cindy Tobeck, an elementary school teacher from Washington, grew the massive gourd. The largest California grown pumpkin weighed in at a whopping 1,723 pounds.





The champion pumpkin, along with the top five pumpkins overall, will be on display at the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival.



The world-famous Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival is the season's signature event drawing thousands of visitors to the "World Pumpkin Capital" for an epic festival on historic Main Street. This year's 46th annual festival will be held on October 15-16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
