CHP reports fatal collision on I-880 in Hayward

HAYWARD, Calif. -- The California Highway Patrol Saturday morning is reporting a fatal collision on Interstate Highway 880 in Hayward.

The incident was first reported around 1:30 a.m. and occurred in the southbound lanes of the highway near A Street.

A man reportedly ran in front of a truck and was struck and killed, according to the CHP.

The incident blocked all southbound lanes of the highway untilaround 4 a.m., when the scene was cleared.
