OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Former state Sen. President leader Don Perata broke his silence in the Oakland's race for Mayor.

Perata joined several community leaders Wednesday by endorsing Bryan Parker as the next Mayor of Oakland.

Perata unsuccessfully ran for Oakland Mayor in 2010. He does not believe any of the current City Hall incumbents are a good fit.

Parker is a Port of Oakland Commissioner. He is running against 14 other candidates including current Mayor Jean Quan who appointed him to the job last year.
