Man beaten by Alameda County Sheriff's deputies gets settlement
The Alameda County Sheriff's Department will pay Stanislav Petrov $5.5 million to settle a lawsuit after video surfaced of deputies beating Petrov in a San Francisco street in November 2015.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A settlement has been reached between the Alameda County Sheriff's Department and a man whose beating was caught on surveillance video.

Lawyers for Stanislav Petrov say their client will receive $5.5 million in the settlement.

It happened after Petrov led the deputies on a high-speed chase that ended in a San Francisco alley back in November 2015.

Petrov remains in federal custody on unrelated gun and drug charges.
