Pittsburgh Penguin fans proud team is in Stanley Cup Final

SAN JOSE (KGO) -- The San Jose Sharks face an uphill battle on the road to the Stanley Cup after they lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins Monday night.

On Tuesday morning, Pittsburgh's Consol Energy Center was empty, but they held a media availability downstairs. "It's about getting traffic, getting shots," Joe Pavelski said.

In the meantime, Pittsburghers filled streets around the arena Monday night. There were maybe as many people outside as inside the arena. "I think it's the Pittsburgh pride," one woman said.

We hear a lot about Pittsburgh pride. What is Pittsburgh pride? "Think about it, this was the steel town, man, we were born from the steel," Jim Conn said.

Reminders of that are everywhere. For example, there's the United States Steel building. And maybe steel stomachs, too, in places like Framanti's, which is open 24 hours since the 1930's, and almost always with a line.

They sell a sandwich that has ham, cheese, an egg, french fries, and cole slaw. It's bigger than a fist, and the first bite will leave a person speechless.

"Hey, look here, this is how crazy Pittsburghers are, at least one tattoo or another, I mean for real, we bleed black and gold in this city," Conn said.
