Teens get summer jobs making homes more environmentally friendly

FREMONT, Calif. (KGO) -- There are lots of things teens can do over the summer, but very few where they can get paid to help save the planet.

It's a free service that could save you money - and those teens are more than happy to provide it.

Rising Sun Energy is a program backed by cities and utilities. Specialists will evaluate your home -- everything from the appliances to the faucets.

They take down measurements, fish out information and, when they find a problem, they bring gifts to fix it from replacing light bulbs to entire lamps.
