Same-sex couple says Uber driver canceled ride on way to San Francisco Pride
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A same-sex couple that was on their way to San Francisco Pride celebrations this weekend are not happy with Uber. The men say a driver canceled their ride after a simple kiss.
"It was a peck. That's all," Seattle resident Sumeet Chadha said.
"The driver all of a sudden said, 'We can't take you guys anymore. We can't take you guys.' And we're like uh what are you talking about? And he says, 'We don't have any gas. We don't have any gas. This car is not going to work. We're not going to be able to go," San Francisco resident Matt Togni said.
"That wasn't the case because I glanced over to his dashboard and he was not nearly empty. The gas was full," friend Gonzalo Lozano said.

The couple and their friends were riding to a Pride event in the Castro District Saturday night when all four started protesting to the driver about his behavior - he erupted.
"Calls us a very homophobic expletive and then tells us we're going to hell as we're leaving the car. He says nothing is going to happen, report what you want. Nothing is going to happen," Togni said.
Their driver, Toumi, then canceled the right and told them to get out.
Uber was making a big deal about Pride this season, even advertising special hashtags on social media.
The Uber app had rainbow flags on the cars and a large group of employees even marched in the San Francisco Pride Parade.

The pair complained to Uber but haven't been told what will happen.
ABC7 News contacted Uber and the company released a statement saying, "Uber does not tolerate any form of discrimination, and we are looking into this incident."
"I've never had an awful experience like last night. That was probably the first time I've ever felt just so discriminated against," Chadha said.
They say they're never going to use Uber again.
