"Deflategate" will be the subject of a course in the fall term. UNH sports law professor Michael McCann has designed the four-credit undergraduate class to look at the legal underpinnings of the NFL scandal.
According to the course description, it will be about "the interplay between those footballs ... and the legal, regulatory and journalistic systems governing sports." It will be open to 75 students.
The New England Patriots were caught using underinflated footballs in January's AFC title game. A report this this week found sufficient evidence that the team violated NFL rules. Quarterback Tom Brady was found to be "at least generally aware" of the improprieties.
