Stanford documentary celebrates solar car milestone

PALO ALTO, Calif. (KGO) -- Stanford's Solar Car Project is commemorating its 25th anniversary with a new documentary about its top-five finish in the 2013 World Solar Challenge. They finished in fourth place in the race that covers a grueling 2,000 mile trek across the Australian outback.

The documentary features team members, family and industry supporters, including Google and Tesla.

The Stanford Solar Car Project is a student-run organization founded in 1989. It's fueled by its members' passion for environmentally minded technology.
