Six train cars, about 400 seats, will be added to its San Joaquin service between Bakersfield and Sacramento, more than 700 seats will be added to its Pacific Surfliner service between San Diego and San Luis Obispo, and more than 500 seats will be added to its Capitol Corridor service between Auburn and San Jose.
Tickets for these routes, which normally can be purchased at the station, must be purchased in advance during Thanksgiving week, according to Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham.
"Every Thanksgiving we've exceeded ridership from the year before," said Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham. "We're expecting the same this year."
