Special Olympics kicks off in Sacramento

The Northern California Special Olympics kicked off in Sacramento on Friday.

A young runner carrying the Olympic Flame of Hope led on a precession of police officers and special olympians to the state capitol.

From there, the flame made its way to the University of California at Davis where the games will be held over the weekend.

Events include swimming, track and field, tennis and bocce ball.
