Sully Sullenberger giving kids free airplane rides

LIVERMORE, Calif.

Complimentary airplane rides will be offered to the first 10 kids who sign up at the Livermore Airport's annual open house Saturday.

Sullenberger will hold a forum to discuss careers in aviation after the flights.

The Danville resident became a national hero in 2009, when he successfully landed a troubled US Airways passenger plane in the Hudson River in New York.

Livermore Airport's open house starts at 10 a.m.
