Google launches annual 'doodle' contest for students

A second grader from San Bruno, Mateo Lopez, won the 2011 Google Doodle contest.

Students from kindergarten to 12th grade will try and redesign Google's homepage logo as part of this year's Doodle 4 Google contest. The search engine is accepting submissions for its annual contest.

This year's theme is "My Best Day Ever."

The winner will receive a $30,000 college scholarship and a $50,000 technology grant.
