ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- A brush fire temporarily closed all lanes of I-580 at the Altamont Pass early Friday morning.
The two-alarm fire happened after a crash along eastbound lanes. The fire quickly spread throughout nearby vegetation due to high winds in the area. At one point, the fire jumped the freeway.
The crash happened just before midnight and all lanes reopened around 4:30 a.m.
The CHP has not released information on possible injuries to the driver. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
