The chase started in Knightsen and continued through Antioch, Brentwood and Pittsburgh before the driver ultimately began racing right at oncoming traffic on Highway 4.
The CHP set out spike strips to slow the car and the driver ultimately crashed into a center divide and took off running.
Police caught up with him a short time later as he walked along the freeway. Amazingly, nobody was injured during the chase.
