The roadway at Devil's Slide between Half Moon Bay and Pacifica had to be closed in both directions for about six hours on Friday.
Because of the constant threat of mudslides here, Caltrans is constructing a tunnel that will bypass Devil's Slide.
It's supposed to open in 2011.
