A $125,000 grant has been awarded to the Ira Greene Partners in AIDS Care and Education Clinic in the Santa Clara Valley Health and Hospital System, officials announced this week.

The money from Gilead Sciences will assist in providing early diagnosis and treatment of HIV through increased staffing for testing, education and counseling of patients, according to Santa Clara County officials.

The grant will be used to initially focus on people who are seeking diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and will expand to become part of routine health screenings.
