The first earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 1.3 struck at about 7:25 a.m. near San Jose, according to the USGS. The earthquake had a depth of 4.3 miles and was centered 10 miles east of San Jose City Hall.
Another earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.4 struck at about 8:11 a.m. today near Hollister.
According to the USGS, the earthquake had a depth of 3.6 miles and was centered 2 miles southwest of Hollister and 43 miles southeast of San Jose City Hall.
