After a lot of negotiation, the dispute was resolved peacefully around 11:30 p.m. and the suspect was taken into custody, police said.
The initial report came from the suspect's significant other, who told police the suspect was battering her at 2:40 p.m. in the 1200 block of Queens Road.
When police responded, the suspect had barricaded himself inside their home, keeping police negotiating outside.
The woman did not need medical attention, police said.
