Appeals court rules in favor of Metrolink

LOS ANGELES A suicidal man parked his SUV on the tracks in Glendale causing two trains to derail. Eleven people were killed in the crash.

At issue is Metrolink's use of the 'push-pull' mode of operation. Trains are pulled by a locomotive one way and then pushed when they go in the opposite direction.

Plaintiffs alleged that when trains are pushed, their cars cannot act as a buffer during a crash.
