Two-alarm fire in San Ramon contained

Firefighters have contained a two-alarm grass fire that broke out late this morning and threatened structures in the area of Alamo in unincorporated Contra Costa County, according to the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District.

The blaze was reported around 11:15 a.m. and brought firefighters to Stone Valley Road near Interstate Highway 680 and to Vernal Drive, where the fire was threatening structures, according to the dispatcher.

The blaze was contained at about 11:40 a.m. but fire crews remained in the area around 12:10 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol issued a Sig-alert for Highway 680 at 11:30 a.m. as the blaze prompted the closure of one northbound lane.
