A male victim suffered third-degree burns Friday afternoon during a vehicle fire outside of an East Palo Alto towing company, according to the Menlo Park Fire Protection District.

Firefighters were called around 1:25 p.m. to reports of a vehicle fire threatening a structure at the A-1 Towing Company at 1877 Bay Road, where crews discovered three vehicles engulfed in flames.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, which damaged only salvage vehicles at no monetary loss.

A male victim was found suffering third-degree burns to both of his arms, with burns covering about 15 percent of his body, fire officials said.

He was transported to Stanford hospital, and his name has not been released pending notification of his family.
