Just after 9 p.m., the victim and his 16-year-old son were in the 1100 block of Bobcat Way when a black vehicle drove by and an occupant opened fire, according to police.
The father was struck several times and taken to an area hospital. He has been listed in stable condition, police reported.
The son was not injured in the shooting.
No suspect information was immediately released and the case is being investigated as gang related.
