The collision occurred around 6:30 p.m. between two F-Market streetcars that were heading south on Embarcadero at Washington Street, Muni spokesman Judson True.
Six passengers were transported for treatment at area hospitals and another eight were treated at the scene or did not require treatment. True said the fire department determined that none of the injuries were serious.
The scene was cleared and service resumed by 7:45 p.m., True said.
