Police received reports around 12:10 p.m. that a vehicle had crashed into the Chicago Blues Cafe and a flower stand at the corner of 136th Avenue and East 14th Street, police said.
An initial report suggested people were trapped in the crash, and police have confirmed that one person in the vehicle was killed.
An ambulance and fire units responded to the area, which is near San Leandro Hospital, and were on scene around 1 p.m., police said.
