Sheriff's Sgt. Tim Curran said the warrant was issued Tuesday for 24-year-old Amandeep Singh Dhami of Elk Grove, a suburb south of Sacramento. Authorities believe Dhami may be trying to leave the country.
Dhami and 24-year-old Gurpreet Singh Gosal, of Indianapolis, are suspected of opening fire Sunday at the Sacramento Sikh Society Sports Complex. Sheriff's deputies say spectators attacked Gosal with cricket bats and field hockey sticks after the shots were fired.
The shooting killed 26-year-old Parmjit Pamma Singh of Bay Point and injured a 38-year-old man whose identity has not been released. Curran said the shooting stemmed from a dispute between families of the suspect and the dead victim. The injured man was a bystander.
