The 8-inch main burst around 11:20 p.m. on Beach Road near Teal Road, water district spokeswoman Libby Pischel said.
Water service has been shut off to homes in the area while crews work to repair the break, Pischel said.
Pischel did not know how much water escaped or if any residents were displaced. She did not yet know when water service would be restored.
