Lara Akmehmet was diagnosed with leukemia in June and has been undergoing chemotherapy ever since.
The Stanford Blood Center is overseeing the effort to find a matching donor for the first grader.
All it takes is a swab of the cheek and $25 to be added to the national bone marrow registry.
Laras bone marrow drive is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Edna Maguire Elementary School in Mill Valley.
