Nurses to march across Golden Gate Bridge

SAN FRANCISCO

The march, to be followed by a rally at Crissy Field at 2:30 p.m., will be in support of legislation such as HR 676 currently pending in Congress, which proposes an expansion of Medicare benefits to cover all Americans, according to the nurses association.

The nurses group will continue a day of activism by protesting at California Pacific Medical Center, where contract negotiations between Sutter Health administrators and registered nurses have stalled, according to California Nurses Association representative Shum Preston.

Sen. Leland Yee, D-San Mateo/San Francisco, is scheduled to attend the protest, set to begin at 4 p.m. at 3700 California St. in San Francisco.
