Thirty-six hand-made racers took to the streets of San Francisco on Saturday in a Soap Box Derby. The non-motorized vehicles came in all shapes and sizes.

Spectators got a glimpse of a fire truck and Rubik's cube. The Trans America Pyramid took a spill as the drivers zoomed down Dolores Street alongside Mission Dolores Park.

The race is part of a national contest for amateur drivers who compete against the clock in the downhill race.

The first contest took place in Belgium eight years ago and it's been held in 30 different countries.
