Body recovered off Sonoma County coast

SONOMA COUNTY, CA

The body was spotted by the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department's helicopter in the water off Horseshoe Point around 3 p.m. in the area where 42-year-old Nuala O'Donohoe, of Dublin, disappeared Oct. 4.

The U.S. Coast Guard recovered the woman's decomposed body that was still in some clothing, Coast Guard Officer Gregory Probst said this morning.

The Sonoma County coroner's office is still trying to determine the woman's identity.

O'Donohoe was attending a weeklong retreat at Sea Ranch and was last seen sunbathing on the beach at Horseshoe Point in Salt Point State Park when she disappeared between 1:30 and 3 p.m.

Her friends found her backpack and a pair of pants on the beach.
