A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a car in San Francisco this morning, a police spokeswoman said.

The collision happened around 7:10 a.m. at Fulton Street and 30th Avenue near Golden Gate Park.

Police Sgt. Lyn Tomioka said the victim is an elderly woman.

"She was hit while she was crossing the street," Tomioka said.

Tomioka said that intersection is controlled by a traffic light but didn't know whether the woman was crossing on a green light. She said there is a bus stop nearby.

The woman was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
