Celestino Roman-Soto, 38, pleaded no contest to the manslaughter charge and the use of a gun in October in return for the 15-year term.
Roman-Soto was charged with the murder of Carlos Vela, 26, at Vela's apartment in the 800 block of West Avenue the night of Jan. 26.
Santa Rosa police said Vela was shot three times in the chest. The two men were arguing before the 10:22 p.m. shooting, police said.
