The Fremont Human Services Department has selected 20 kids between the ages of 6 and 8 who will drive to a Target store with a police officer to shop for family members.
A Santa's helper at Target will assist with some of the shopping and wrapping gifts.
Fremont police will also set up a mobile command center in the Target parking lot with police canines, patrol motorcycles and a visit from Santa Claus.
Lunch at an Outback restaurant will help round out the day and brighten the holiday experience for the kids and their families.
