Woman dies after I-380 crash in San Bruno

The major-injury accident was reported at 11:40 p.m. Friday when independent witnesses reported seeing the driver of a Honda Accord turn abruptly across two lanes of traffic into the path of a Chevy Tahoe, striking the Tahoe on the driver's side, according to the CHP.

The driver of the Honda was transported to San Francisco General Hospital after being extricated from her vehicle, the CHP reported. She was pronounced dead at 1:05 a.m.

The driver of the Chevy Tahoe was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with minor injuries and was believed to be under the influence of alcohol, according to the CHP.

Authorities determined the man was not the cause of the collision and arrested him for a misdemeanor DUI, the CHP reported.

The crash blocked lanes of I-380 for nearly two hours. A Sig-alert issued just before midnight was canceled at about 1:30 a.m.
