The robbery was reported at about 4 p.m. at the Citibank at 26135 Carmel Rancho Blvd. in an area just west of Carmel by the Sea.
The suspect was armed with a handgun, according to the sheriff's office. No customers were in the bank at the time, and no employees were injured.
The suspect is described as a white man about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black mask, black hat and black clothing during the robbery.
