SF families utilize free lead testing

Many families took advantage of free lead testing for toys and other items in San Francisco Sunday.

The Center for Environmental Health offered the tests at Glide Memorial Methodist Church at Ellis and Taylor Streets Sunday afternoon.

The consumer watchdog group reports many children received toys during the holidays which contained unsafe levels of lead.

That is because many of the tougher laws limiting lead in children's products have not taken effect yet.
