San Jose Police are searching for three men who allegedly stabbed another man several times on an Interstate Highway 101 off-ramp, according to the Police Department.

Someone passing by the dispute on the eastbound McKee Road off-ramp called police just before 2 p.m.

Police found the man suffering from several stab wounds and took him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police Sgt. Ronnie Lopez said.

However, a doctor said the victim was in stable condition after a surgery was performed, Lopez said.

The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.

The California Highway Patrol closed the off-ramp until about 5:30 p.m., while police investigated the scene.
