People spending less on St. Patrick's Day

There may be a lot less green beer flowing this St. Patrick's Day.

You can't tell by the size of the crowds in San Francisco, but the National Retail Federation says spending for St. Patrick's Day will be down about 6 percent this year.

The average person will fork out $33 for the celebration.

Still that's quite a big pot of gold at the end of the rainbow; $33 a person in the U.S. adds up to $3 billion.
