Feinstein wants to keep oyster farm running

Sen. Dianne Feinstein has attached a rider to a spending bill that would extend the lease of the /*Drake's Bay Oyster Company*/ until 2022. The farm is responsible for nearly 40 percent of the state's /*oyster*/ production.

The park service has come under fire for misrepresenting data in attempt to close the farm and turn it back into wilderness land. But a National Academy of Sciences report concluded there is not enough data to prove the farm is doing any harm.

Still, environmentalists oppose Feinstein's move, calling the lease extension unprecedented.
