Vegetables help reduce blood pressure

Researchers found the biggest benefit comes from foods rich in glutamic acid which includes beans, whole grains and soy.

Eating just five percent more of those foods could lead to a small decrease in blood pressure, but the American Heart Association says it's enough to prevent more than 25,000 deaths a year from stroke or heart disease.

The new study is in the journal "Circulation."
