San Jose and San Francisco rank behind New York, as the top spots in the nation for falling rents.
In New York you'll pay an average of almost $2,700 a month for an apartment, down 5.8 percent. Rents are down 5.1 percent in San Jose and 4.7 percent in San Francisco.
The national vacancy rate has hit a 22 year high, up 7.5 percent in the past three months.
