SF, UN to build global warming think tank

The UN sponsored think tank will study solutions to global warming and other environmental crises.

The center, which is expected to cost $20 million, is due to open in 2012. But first, the land has to be cleaned.

The Navy is cleaning up the toxic shipyard, which is listed as a superfund site. After the cleanup the land will be turned over to the city.
