Ancient dinosaur runway found in France

The 140-million-year-old pterosaur tracks were found in an ancient lagoon in southwestern France.

University of California, Berkeley paleontologist Kevin Padian says they tell the sequence of the animal's movements as it landed.

Padian says the tracks suggest the pterosaur landed like most modern birds. It flapped quickly right before landing to slow down and then walked off on all fours.

Some pterosaurs were quite large with wingspans of up to 33-feet wide.
