At around 1:50 p.m., three people heard a woman cry for help after she was robbed in the area of 300 Grand Avenue, according to the South San Francisco Police Department.
A 20-year-old San Bruno man, Isrrael Vazquez, had allegedly grabbed the woman's purse and fled the area on foot.
The bystanders reportedly followed Vazquez and called police with details regarding his location.
Officers responded, and after a brief search found the suspect hiding in dense brush about 40 yards north of South Airport Boulevard.
