Coach Harbaugh has a good feeling about this year's team. The foundation is there, the team has bought into his philosophy, and there is just one thing missing.

"We need some wins, some cold-blooded wins, and especially on the road to put this team where it needs to be, where we envisioned it," said Harbaugh.

His vision starts with Luck.

"He's really talented, he's got a great mind, very quick-minded, tremendous leadership skills," said Harbaugh. "He's proven everything to us other than playing in a game."

After watching Tavita Pritchard all last season, Luck is ready for his first game as the team's new quarterback.

"Excited, nervous, don't really know what to expect, but I'm very, very excited," said Luck.

Having Toby Gerhardt running the ball behind him is a good feeling for this freshman.

"Such a calming presence to see a 240-pound beast back there," said Luck.

Gerhardt, now a senior, has some lofty goals for himself and the team.

"Getting to a bowl game, that and 2,000 yards rushing," said Gerhardt. "Got to set the standards high. That's what we're aiming for. We want to get off to a quick start and show what we got this year. So you know it's going to be fun, it's going to be exciting, it's going to be tough, it's going to be a battle, but we're looking to come out on top."
