The three-vehicle crash happened just north of Davis Street at about 7:30 a.m., CHP Officer Nicole Pacheco said.
A Sig-alert was issued at 7:41 a.m. The two left lanes remained blocked at about 8 a.m. There is no estimated time for when they will be reopened.
Commuters should expect up to 40-minute delays, Pacheco said. Big rigs can use Interstate Highway 580, and other drivers are being advised to do so.
